-- Donning headphones and high-tech headsets that were tethered by a wire to a laptop, JSerra High athletes spent part of a day last week perched in front of computers in the school’s athletic offices, appearing as though they were testing the newest video game to hit the market.
The reality is the athletes were testing something infinitely more vital.
The athletes were having electroencephalogram (EEG) scans performed to measure electrical activity in the brain, essentially determining the health of the organ.
JSerra is using a relatively new piece of technology called a WAVi Scanner to gauge the brain health of their athletes before they participate in their respective sports.
